Awesome Javascript Projects to Watch On Github


After writing a post about WordPress related projects to watch on Github, I thought it would be a great idea to post links to some of the more interesting opensource javascript projects available on Github. If I have left any off please post them in the comments.

turn.js |
The awesome paper-like effect made for HTML5. turn.js is a plugin for jQuery that adds a beautiful transition similar to real pages in a book or magazine for HTML5.

Glisse.js |

Glisse.js is a simple, responsive and fully customizable jQuery photo viewer. You’ll like the transitions between two pictures entirely assumed by CSS3.

Hammer.js |

Hammer.js is a javascript library (that depends on jQuery) that can be used to control gestures on touch devices. It supports the following gestures: Tap, Double tap, Hold, Drag, Transform.

Morris.js |
Making good-looking graphs shouldn’t be hard. Morris.js is a lightweight library that uses jQuery and Raphaël to make drawing time-series graphs easy.

Timeline |

There are lots of timeline tools on the web but they are almost all either hard on the eyes or hard to use. Create timelines that are at the same time beautiful and intuitive for users. Timeline is great for pulling in media from different sources. Just throw in a link from Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, Google Maps or SoundCloud and Timeline will format it to fit perfectly. More media types will be supported in the future.

Sequence |

Sequence is the jQuery slider plugin with infinite style. It provides the complete functionality for a website slider without forcing you to use a set theme.

three.js |
Javascript 3D library. The aim of the project is to create a lightweight 3D library with a very low level of complexity — in other words, for dummies. The library provides canvas, svg and WebGL renderers.

tquery |

deck.js |
A JavaScript library for building modern HTML presentations. deck.js is flexible enough to let advanced CSS and JavaScript authors craft highly customized decks, but also provides templates and themes for the HTML novice to build a standard slideshow.

portamento.js |
Portamento is a jQuery plugin that makes it simple to add sliding (aka “floating”) panel functionality to your web page. All that’s needed is some simple CSS and one line of JavaScript, and you’re away!

zoomooz |
Zoomooz is an easy-to-use jQuery plugin for making any web page element zoom.

breakpoints.js |
Define breakpoints for your responsive design, and Breakpoints.js will fire custom events when the browser enters and/or exits that breakpoint.

scrollpath |
jQuery Scroll Path is a plugin that lets you define your own custom scroll path. What this means exactly is best understood by checking out the demo. The plugin uses canvas flavored syntax for drawing paths, using the methods moveTo, lineTo and arc. To help with getting the path right, a canvas overlay with the path can be enabled when initating the plugin.

Kalendae |
